I am a lover of books and history. I find passion in telling stories of the human condition, its complexities and its boundless resilience. Having been a secondary school teacher for more than 50 years, I have been fortunate to be part of my students’ lives as they cultivate a sense of their selves and place in their societies. To share my experience, I have written a collection of some sixteen stories which encompass the trials and joys of a full range of characters that all of us know so well in high schools. Although the narratives qualify as fiction, they are firmly rooted in real life experience from represented by their final two years in high school in the late nineties. Furthermore, I am profoundly grateful for the gift of such a platform that has allowed me to share through fiction in the role that I have in the nurturing of two generations.
I have been working on this book School Whisperers for quite sometime now. What started as a personal recap as I neared retirement has matured into a precious undertaking which has provided me with a deeper sense of self and purpose inevitable closure has come with time.
Get in touch with me and let me know what you think. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I had writing it.
